Genesis x RMX collab!

Hey everyone! It’s been busy for me, so please excuse me for all the missing updates! I’ll try and make this site a priority once again. It’ll be easy since I’ll be much more involved with pen spinning this year.

To kick off this year with a great start, I would like to announce the release of our collab with Genesis!

Thanks to all that participated in this! It was rather tough getting all the videos in since everybody was busy with family and friends during the holidays. Nonetheless, we pulled through and got this remarkable collab out! Once again, many thanks to those that submitted a video!

I would also like to announce that Dongza is now a part of RMX! He has been but I’ve been a little busy/lazy with the updating so I will give him a proper page on this site. Everybody, please welcome Dongza!

Two Slated Collabs?

Hey guys! RMX has  been dead for quite some time now and I apologize for not coming out with any activities that involve the entire team. Then again, everybody seems to be busy with their own thing, so yeah. Alright, I have 2 collabs slated to be done by November and December.

The first is our very first honest-to-goodness RMX collab. Please, everyone make 2 combos, the first being a good, mainstream combo which you would see in collabs nowadays. The second combo will be something totally different, that no one has ever seen before. Consider that combo your remix. That’s basically the theme behind this collab. I am setting the deadline to October 31, so please make your combos good! For the videos, there is no time limit, but because each person has 2 combos, it would be nice to keep it under 20 seconds. Fifteen seconds and under would be ideal.

The second is a collab between RMX and Genesis. Genesis is a rising team with formidable members. Members include the leader xshadowfire, foofdude, TNC, toast, Scott Shaputis, Nova, pholord, kohai, and Sathon. You can view their site here. Xshadowfire and I are still discussing details, but we know that it will commence in the winter. Xshadowfire will probably be the main editor of this collab, but that can change. Once again, details are still under discussion.

Progress

These past 2 weeks have been moving by quickly! I managed to knock down most of the tricks in the Tutorials section and at this rate, I should be done with all tutorials by early August. With tutorials behind me, I will have more time to focus on the Videos section and will gradually be doing breakdowns. Again, any help with breakdowns and videos is greatly appreciated!

Of course, I won’t stop making tutorials forever. As I continue to grow as a spinner, I will share whatever new tricks I learn with all of you. Don’t worry!
As I’m nearing the end of my tutorial making, I will be starting the UCPSB BIC Giveaway #2. The poll for colours that you, member of UCPSB, would like is right here. I hope to get all of the packages sent by late September to early October, depending on how fast things get done on both my end and the BIC imprinters’ end.

-Eriror will be having a gathering this year. I believe it is sometime during August. If you are near the Netherlands and wish to attend, give Eriror a message asking for details.
-Eriror and Asian Tim are both in the Team Spinning Tournament. Check out what’s happening here.
-Asian Tim recently lost against foofdude in a ladder match. Asian Tim, we want to let you know that you are still awesome! Keep up the awesome spinning.
-Maniok is now in a Tack On battle against Mats. Check out the details here.
-Chucko seems to be MIA. Can we persuade him to say hello to all of us?
-Donk3y and lunasol have been spinning more recently. Get a hold of them and you can ask them for videos of their recent spinning. I’ve seen both and I am truly impressed!

Moving Full Force!

In an unprecendented wave of motivation, I decided to get serious with this pen spinning and start a full onslaught of projects. You can view all of the projects in my profile (Eso’s profile). It will take a lot of time and a lot of work, but I believe  that I can achieve it all. I will be updating this site regularly with updates on my progress with my projects as well as the other members’.

For now, top priority projects include completing this site’s information, completing all tutorials, and organizing the next BICtory giveaway. Yes, you heard right! I will be doing another giveaway but there will be restrictions. I am still working on the details so stay tuned!
Background projects that will require about 5 hrs a week include the XY theory, helping with a partner site, and creating a RMX logo and gear. I believe the accumulation of work throughout the year will bear fruit torwards the end.

Any RMX members interested in helping out can send me an IM or PM me. Non-RMX members are also welcome to help out with the site. I need help with gathering all kinds of information for collaboration videos, solo videos, and breakdowns. That will greatly increase the progress of this site and I can move on to other projects. Thank you!

Current Events

RMX has been a little dead as of late. I’ve been a little busy with my personal life but I have been continuing doing the tutorials.  Eriror and Asian Tim are active in the Team Spinning Tournament in UCPSB. Let’s cheer them on!

Maniok, Donk3y, Chucko, and Lunasol are all busy with their own lives.

I am thinking we should release a RMX collab sometime in the near future. The tentative theme for this collab is a RMX button. What this button does is take mainstream, generic (albeit good-looking) combos and transforms them into something very different and unique. This requires for each spinner to submit 2 different styled combos. However, I need to get into contact with each spinner and get the available dates. Another thing required is for me to learn how to edit effectively with Vegas. All in all, I hope this project is a successful one.

ES X RMX Collab

Good news guys! The collab is finally out! After nearly a month and a half, we concluded this into one video!

A big thank you to all the spinners involved and those that could not make it. RMX, you guys did a great job. Let’s make sure that we keep up the great spinning for our next video, whenever that may be! ES, you guys have a lot more members that we do, but you were nice to accommodate us. We are all truly surprised by all of your vids. Everybody did a wonderful job.

Let’s give a big hand to neXus! He definitely made this happen and even though there were a few bumps along the road, we got things rolling. A note to the readers: everything in the editing process was given considerable thought. I’ll take the liberty to list them here:

1. The music was specifically chosen because I thought that two of the world’s greatest teams meeting together is a lot like the game Namco x Capcom. Not only that, but the music is great. A good mix of synth pop with trance should keep most people happy with the music choice. Furthermore, the lyrics to the song fit nicely with the idea behind the whole collaboration.
2. The logo was hand drawn by me, Eso, and then Photoshopped by my friend. Afterwards, neXus took the artistic liberty to create an effect with the given psd file. Simply amazing. I honestly did not know that it could be done so simply. Great idea neXus!
3. For the intro, I wanted it to be similar in style to the actual trailer for Namco x Capcom. Of course, the raindrops were an added effect to match the sounds heard in the first 10 seconds of the song. The exploding colourful rings were a tribute to the awesome game Namco x Capcom.
4. The ending had some slogans. “only the beginning” signifies that this kind of spinning is only a precursor to what may come. “Constantly evolving” was a slogan I made up for team ES. I do not know if they have one, but I figure that it fits nicely with the intention of their team name. Finally, “changing what you know about pen spinning” is a sentence from here, although slightly modified. =)

Well, there you have it! The ideas behind the video and the work put into it. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! Spread this video to your friends and show them what pen spinning is really about!

Hey! There are currently several new additions to the site. At the top, you will see Pens, Tutorials, and Videos. The Pens section will cover all of the major pens collected for modding. I hope the information will be exhaustive. The Tutorials section will have all of the tutorials made by RMX members, be it combos, tricks, or articles on other aspects of pen spinning. The Videos section will contain a master list of all major releases. There will be breakdowns for each video.

A RMX member is gone

DarkInertia will be leaving RMX. There are more important things he has to attend to, and we all wish him good luck and health! Hopefully, he’ll still be around to talk once in a while.

RMX + ES Collab!

Ryo contacted me about wanting to do a collab with us! If you don’t already know, ES consists of some of the best spinners in all of JEB! For now, we’re going to contact each other through email (in Japanese) and work out the details. Right now, here are the broad details:

• All 8 of us will have by March 31 10 AM EST to submit video clips. Those not on EST must adjust accordingly. Please try to get your videos done as soon as possible.
• All videos will be sent to Eso, who then will send the videos to RYO (for some unknown reason). Perhaps all videos will be uploaded to RYO’s site, so that the editor can download them all at one time.
• The editor is neXus. The deadline for editing has not been established.
• ES will have 8 members to match our 8.

This is a serious collab so please practice hard and when filming, give it your all!
